Hi everyone! We just released the June content update. This is a large update with lots of improvements and new features.

NOTE ON PERFORMANCE :


As you all know VR is very performance hungry so building a large living world like this is not an easy task. There is still a lot of room for performance improvements (especially for the Vive) so the and graphic settings are highly experimental.
However, with you can bring up a menu to tweak various graphic settings to your liking:

Some of the changes include:




  • New starting point : campsite
  • BasicTruesky integration with realtime volumetric clouds
  • HRTF dynamic insect sounds added
  • Binaural wind gusts generator added
  • Much more environment variety added

  • Completely revamped physics based paddling system
  • Free roaming, go explore!
  • First hotspots are placed in the map
  • Motion-controller driven inventory system
  • New tool : the scanner
  • Hop on and off the paddle board

  • full remote support to control kayak, speed, flashlight and teleport from campsite to the tour kayak.
  • various bug fixes


Known issues:




  • If you paddle with two paddles at the same time, only one will rumble
  • Using the flashlight at daytime reduces performance
  • If you get stuck with the paddle board please let us know where so we can fix it. Holding down the grip buttons on both controllers teleports you back to the campsite
  • Vive users can hit

    to jump into the tour kayak if you don't want to paddle (we will have a more elegant solution for this soon)



Also we encountered a bug that makes our cool translucent water flicker at certain angles, we are working with Epic to roll out a fix in the coming weeks. In the meantime we changed the water to a more basic opaque version but you can toggle between the two with .
