Game: Beyond Sunset
Hi All!
You might have noticed a small change in the “Publisher” field on our Steam page. WE HAVE A PUBLISHER! It’s Movie Games, and we’re very happy to be working with them. Here’s what this means, and why we partnered with them.
1. What this means for the game and the Patrons
Nothing really, but also good things. How come? We still have full creative control over the game’s content. Also, everything regarding our Patreon will remain the same. No changes here. The folks at Movie Games got in touch with us because they like what we do and they don’t want to change the game, just help it grow.
Our relationship with Movie games affords us some much-needed QA support and localization, as well as some mentoring from acclaimed producers. We’re gamers and developers first and foremost, but have little experience bringing a game to market. We simply haven’t got the resources or experience to maximize our potential, and Movie Games has the talent, resources and experience to fill that gap. We’re very pleased to be working with them!
2. What this means for our potential success
This is where the fun begins. We’ll get full marketing support, translations, and a proper release. They’re here to help us to attract new players and expand our audience. I won’t spoil things to come just yet. You’ll see.
The great thing about it is that we’re talking about everything, all the ideas are approved by us first, so you can be sure the soul of Beyond Sunset is intact. And if they help us get noticed, then this may not be our first and last game at the same time.
3. Who are these guys anyway? And why we partnered with Movie Games
They are an indie publisher. They’re mostly known for Gas Station Simulator and Drug Dealer Simulator, but they’re expanding into other genres. They’re making MythBusters: The Game, they have a horror series “Lust”, and they’re working on an RTS called Fire Commander etc.
Fun fact: Movie Games works with the core dev of the first The Witcher, and also with God of War’s David Jaffe!
It turns out that they’re big boomer shooter fans with ties to the community, and that’s how we got in touch. So far, it’s been great talking about our plans for the future. You can check them out here:
