Game: Unchained
After nearly 2 years of development and learning, Unchained has finally been released! I would like to thank college for not letting this happen at an earlier point. When the going gets tough, the tough release games cause why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
UNCHAINED
It would be unrealistic of me to say that Unchained runs flawlessly on every computer (especially considering it's my first game). As more people keep playing it and it is run on different environments, I will be able to release updates so everybody can have a delicious experience. I have not yet decided if I will add more side missions or features in future versions, but I will definitely be keeping strict tabs on Unchained.
To all the Apple fans, Mac support will be added soon. How soon? No idea. Depends on a lot of things. However, I do believe it will be a speedy transition based on how the code is looking. I might change a few controls or tweak a couple of things, but overall it is looking like a fairly smooth transition (though I feel like I'll be eating my words at a later point)
To all the Linux users, echo "I have not decided if I will release on Linux. If I get enough requests, then I definitely will."
FUTURE
I have started drafting the idea for my next game and looking into website spaces. I definitely want to bring in outside artists and programmers for my next and future projects. Throughout Unchained's development, I have learned a lot about what to do and what not to do. This means that future games will be better in quality, and taking more runtime environments/situations into account.
But in the meantime, enjoy Unchained. Whoever or wherever you are. You're supporting not only a homegrown non-GMO vegan gluten-free indie game, but a 2 year project that took a lot of hits to the face to make happen. The indie gaming learning/growing curve is a very steep one but rewarding, in my opinion. I am still a college student, which means that school is (sadly) still a priority. However, I will definitely be active, even if there's something running in the background (a school assignment or a new game being developed).
Thank you to everyone who supports this game!
