We're excited about a brand new update coming to JURISDICTION, and we'd like to take a moment to tell you what you can expect to see!
Read on to learn more about our new features and changes coming soon to the game.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
This is a perk you'll be able to unlock within the Annual Report that will enable your officers to start building relationships with the community they serve. Cops can stop by the diner to order a sandwich, they can volunteer at the local animal shelter, they can challenge the locals to a competitive game at the arcade, or they just discuss their favorite literature at the bookstore. Every interaction improves the unit's community relationship.
Every time a unit levels up their community relationship, they unlock a new unit perk for themselves that will improve their interactions with suspects. These unit perks do things like reducing the chances that a suspect will run or fight when stopped by that unit, or persuading suspects to voluntarily confess to carrying weapons or drugs.
HOUSE CLEANER CHALLENGE
A new challenge mode will be included with the update that will task you with taking control of an existing police force that's been horribly mismanaged. Your objective will be to correct all of the mistakes that the previous administration made and gain control of a city that's already in chaos before time runs out.
HOSTAGE-BARRICADE SITUATION
This is a new crime in which a suspect will take people hostage and barricade themselves in a building. You'll need to dispatch a unit with excellent Interrogation skill to act as a negotiator if you want to get the hostages out safely. But this isn't just another crime where you dispatch a unit and then sit back while they do the rest.
We wanted to add a crime to the game where you get to be a little more involved, and in this case, you'll be in charge of directing the interactions between your negotiator and the suspect.
The choices you make could lead the suspect to release the hostages and surrender peacefully, or you might inadvertently provoke the suspect to do something drastic.
PRE-MADE UNITS
If you prefer not to have to build your police force from the ground up every time you start a new game, this feature is for you!
When starting a new game, you'll have the option to launch with a selection of units already hired and positioned around the city. These units will not cost you anything, leaving your starting funds untouched.
OTHER ITEMS
A handful of smaller items will be included in this update, including new achievements, new music tracks and some bug fixes.
Owners of the game's Original Soundtrack on Steam will see that their soundtrack will be updated to include the new music soon after the game update is live.
