I saw the game and the graphics look great and I am intrigued by the puzzles.
I started it up, and the intro has me visit the mayor of the town, who requested
a chemist because his daughter is sick. I'm like, awesome. So it'll show me the
core gameplay. Meet with people, diagnose an illness, research a cure, and brew
stuff?
I can't see her because *she's with a witch doctor right now.* He instead
introduces me to the rest of the town, and every single person is like "Ugh, why
is there *ANOTHER* chemist? These people are the scum of the earth."
After the introductions, the mayor leads me to my house, and apologizes, saying
the town has a history with Chemists, and that he knew that I wouldn't know of
it. He then refuses to elaborate.
My house is the only derelict building in town. My first task in the morning is
to decorate my run down house *with a broken sofa and torn rug*. WHY WOULD I
WANT TO DECORATE MY HOUSE WITH THESE.
Mayor tells me to meet the ranger by the meadows. On the way there, I see the
ranger station with two people there. Talk to both of them, and they both insult
me and tell me that I need to prove myself before they deign to speak with me.
I go to the meadow, and one of the two people I just spoke with is there, and
gives me some messed up tools and tells me to go gather some herbs.
I gather them, fighting off a bear in the process. He comes back and was like
"Oh, you made it back? Huh. I guess go to the town hall. The Mayor's assistant
will have some more work for you."
Town hall is locked. My dog is hungry. Go inside the Tavern. Have no money.
Figure I'll make small talk and try to know people. Get yelled at for wasting
time rather than working.
See a cat outside. Try to pet it. It hisses and snarls at me. I still haven't
been able to see the Mayor's daughter because she's apparently getting an
exorcism with the Witch Doctor or something.
End of Day 1.
Why on Earth would I want to keep playing this? These people are awful.

Potion Permit is such a completely charming game! I love how cozy and fun and
unique it is, as you don't focus on farming but instead on harvesting local
ingredients to make potions to help others in your community, winning them over
one by one while solving an overarching mystery! Such a cozy, fun game with some
surprisingly good character writing (though I admit to not being very fond of
the personality-less MC). This is a really addictive game and I would absolutely
recc it to cozy game fans!

I can no longer recommend this game. The grinding and the micro-transactions to
get seasonal items was the last straw.
The game is a slog, and it seems fun till you have to grind money on having only
one patient at a time makes it all the more slow. There is ONE surge of patients
mid-game but it never happens again. It is a great idea left to rot with no
strong update to help the grind so the player can get upgrades (or cosmetics in
game). If the in game cash flow was faster the game would be waaaay shorter as
money was the only things slowing me down.

I enjoyed playing through Potion Permit; cute graphics, nice story line, simple
mechanics, overall it was relaxing to play through the game.
However, I don't think the game currently has a lot of replay value. Once you
have unlocked the grindy upgrades for the clinic, tools, and even your home,
there is not a lot to do.
I decided to do my own completion type game play (cooking every recipe, maxing
all friendships, purchasing every furniture piece etc) which added some personal
value to my play through.
I wish they would add more content in the game, as once you reach a certain
point in the game (and not even at the end) you run out of stuff to do.
I enjoyed the puzzles; making different potion recipes was quite fun for me as
well, it's cool to try and find other ways to make potions!
Overall, I would recommend this game, but keep your expectations realistic.

horrible and boring. it's a horrible kind of grinding game that provides no
diversity in the gameplay. it's the same thing over and over and feels more like
a chore than a video game

Game is pretty fun but pretty bugged. You should only buy this if it's on sale.
The DLC's says a lot about how the developers feel about their game and the
community.

I am the type of person who gets bored of games (especially cozy games) quickly.
I've played this game for almost 30 hours and have NEVER gotten bored. There
have been no points where the game is too difficult or too stagnant, and the
mechanics such as a dog that finds NPC's and part-time jobs that let two (game)
hours pass while still getting money if you're waiting for something are
amazing.
I also like how, after you've discovered an area, you can buy the plants present
in that area at a stand so you can still brew plenty of potions and get that big
cash, but there is still an incentive to visit those areas, even the beginning
areas, for mob drops and building materials for more intricate potions and
upgrades.
Another small thing I like is that the game has a specific friendship gift as
opposed to you having to give up something potentially valuable from your
inventory like an OP food.
Speaking of food, I love how you cook in the game, and ESPECIALLY love how you
can just.... buy everything you need. Gone are the days of waiting for materials
to cook just so you can visit a harder area; you can just buy groceries at the
farm!
I could go on but that would practically be a book, so to sum it up:
This is a deeply cozy game that doesn't have really boring waiting periods while
you level up or gather materials. It has intricate and helpful mechanics to make
the most of your time while playing. Would 1000% recommend for adults looking
for a cozy escape.
