It's incredibly charming, addicting, and fun. My girlfriend had to go to bed
soon so we intended on just trying the game for 15 minutes; ended up playing
until like 2AM and just barely managed to stop playing. There's a lot of
hilarious moments to be had! I comically missed a treasure chest with the
harpoon and also almost killed us by not repairing the ship in time. She was not
happy with me LOL
Awesome artstyle, challenging but not to the point of frustration, and extremely
rewarding to learn what strategies and items work and what doesn't with your
shipmate. We randomly decided to spend all of our money to get this strange
chicken on board, but the lil' guy ended up helping us a TON in that specific
run. It is a crazy deal to be able to have this much fun with someone for $11.
Excited to pour in dozens of more hours with her!!!

Non-gamer girlfriend friendly. Very fun. We put way too much time into it
together. Would recommend if you have a co-op partner.

MY FAVORITE GAME ALL THE TIME! NO, I AM NOT KIDDING! I AM HAVING TOO MUCH FUN
HERE!
SHIP OF FOOLS REALLY GIVE ME A REASONS AND MOTIVATION TO DRAW MORE AND INSPIRED
MY IMAGINATION! (Ɔ◔‿◔)Ɔ ♥
As a critic, i am gonna say the game have a lot of minor bugs, which sometimes
can be really frustrating like: online problems like no player recconection
feature and so no game rewards after buddy leave, items not workin in certain
situations, enemies fire out of screen and few more which is insanely annoying.
(I am gonna delete this once it's fixed...)
It is really hard to beat the game, glad me did it. The difficulties and the
reward system is pretty sweet. But as someone who beated the game i have one
concern... i have nothing to achive more and i am afraid they wont add more
content for the peoples like me.. :c If the game dev read my review... PLEASE
add more pve content, this game got under my skin and i wanna play it
moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ᕙ(^▿^-ᕙ)

Light-hearted Roguelite.
Don't expect the biggest of struggles, but is not easy either once the
Lighthouse system begins to climb.
New ships gives it a twist it needed badly from the base game.
Twice as fun with a friend.
I like this. :)

I've only ever played this game solo, but it's impressive how well the canon
works for single player mode.
Really enjoyed Ship of Fools and my time spent with it, will continue to return
to it in the future.

This game is very funny! I like the art and the theme. We had much fun as 2
Players even though we thought it might be too crazy and hard. But it just needs
some time and repetition.
It would be nice to have saving points after eacht big level - not a fan of
redoing EVERYTHING.

I really like the concept, but I really wonder how the flying fish you are
supposed to handle a decent run in single player without being a human computer
fueled by 50 liters of mountain dew.
Doubt it gets easier if you get all the soup-upgrades. Partially because
basically only two of them are actually useful.
Luckily having a friend kinda fixes that problem. But that should not be a
dependency in a game that also provides you with a single player mode.

Super addictive and chaotic. Great game to play with a friend!

Got this game back when the demo came out with a friend, and thought it was
amazing. On release that same friend and I have continued enjoying it, however,
when there is a slight hitch in connection the entire run is lost. Remote play
is a slight fix, but I don't see why online for a coop game wouldn't allow for a
re-connection. I have move over seas so playing with my friend has become
impossible without remote play lag, or different remote play problems. I would
love to continue to play but solo is not fun on the hard difficulties.

A great game sadly held back by game breaking bugs (even after a year of
development??) such as creatures becoming invincible and eating away at your
ship until you lose. Friendly fire stun is also a horrible mechanic in a game
where precision is key, having to worry about knocking your teammate off a
cannon while simply reflecting a projectile shouldn't be a thing. Otherwise,
great art style, a solid sense of humour and high replayability could've made
this special if not for the frustrating gameplay and bugs.

This one is an absolute blast. I have played with my girlfriend the majority of
the time. We've encountered a few small bugs but they weren't game breaking
(mostly visual stuff like birds or incoming explosions that don't clear
properly). Didn't have any connectivity issues in remote play co-op or online
multiplayer.
Writing this at 31 hours and we are still working to unlock everything and
having a blast. I completed the solo run achievement, it was challenging but a
lot of fun. Definitely more fun with a friend due to the way the game plays.
If co-op and roguelike is your thing, Ship of Fools is a must buy!

Good game, lacking some QoL, there are a few bugs that break the game, and you
occasionally get screwed over on solo to the point of requiring friends.

My wife and I have been enjoying playing this game for couple of months, after
the lighthouse update she even plays solo quite often.

It is a really great game, except it is unplayable.
It happened several times, that after defeating the bird boss, the left bird
does not disappear, but Icannot hit him and cant continue my journey either,
leaving my only option to abandone the run completely...
My partner has the problem that often enemies do not dissapear, after beeing
defeated which is only annoying. But having to abandone your run is NOT
ACCEPTABLE.
Additionally, there should be a better feedback option than having to relay on
discord (why do I need to verify my phone number?!) or writing a negative
review. I would have rather written a bug report.
Otherwise great game :)

It's an awesome game to play with your wife. It would be nice to have a save &
quit feature on the map screen; kinda difficult to finish an entire run with a
small baby :)

Game is a really fun co-op. We mostly enjoy playing it a lot
We never even came across a game stopper in terms of difficulty.... we of course
died a couple of times.... but after clearing the game, we never really lost so
far (we are at brightness level 5 now)
Then again.... there are some issues..... i think it stills needs balance.....
the cannon that fires all shots with the trinket that crits on last shot is
disgustingly OP (and you can further that with the character that does splash on
crit).... it makes even the eye cry away before he can even summon ads.
But my main reason why i cannot recommend right now is the bugs.... there are
serious sync bugs on co-op.... they are not super often.... but it can simply
kill the run when a boss or last enemy gets stucked after death, effectively
breaking the run
Hope it gets patched soon

Game looks great, but having massive connectivity issues. Can't get past more
than a few map tiles without getting kicked off. Additionally the game doesn't
allow you to rejoin, but instead forces the host to return to lobby.
Again game looks great, and seems fun, but I bought it to play with a friend
online, but I can't do that due to all the connection issues, which since this
is the exact reason I bought the game I am not very happy about
