Oh gosh I love this damn game. It is so endearing and weird in its own special way. + points for Brit humor. nay, humour. + points for semi-angsty-red-head who is secretly sorta sensitive and 'intellectual' which means he likes books n stuff, rite? + winning for costumes and dress-up....though....it srsly bugs me that you cannot actually SEE the MC wearing her new threadz that you just saved up for weeks to buy..... grrr. srsly, need patch for that. and n00dz. Only drawback? Dat chin doe. Good thing I am too drunk to notice most of the time when I am playing, but at first I almost did not buy the game because of chin. But yea it is apparent this is the 'chosen style' of art for this game and I can complain about it but it does not change the excellent text and overall mood of the game. I think the funky chin thing kinda adds to the lighthearted nature of the game. if you want supr srssss get Amensia or something like that (which I love in its own special way too, ofc) but this is a separate animal entirely. and I can appreciate that. (though - not entirely sure if it was intentional in a stylistic sense or in a "this is the best I can draw" sense but either way I accept it for what it is) also kinda petty but I wish I could change MC appearance. she looks like someone who used to annoy the shit out of me, so I wish I could at least pick my hair color, length, eye color, skin tone, and outfit. but I kno this ain't an MMO....alas. Will probably modify/update this after I finish playing cause I am sure I will have some thoughts to add... PS: needs moar lesbian. but like I said I am not through it yet so mebbe I will be (hopefully!) pleasantly surprised (?) PPS: doubleplus points for 2005-ish references. ahh, nostalgia... where my flip phone at?! also LOL add track pants = instaStreet!
I was very excited to play this one but I am left very disappointed. It's very boring and I felt nothing for any of the main characters but that one store clerk.
I can appreciate the time and effort put into this game but after only 10 minutes of playing I couldn`t get past the weird characters including your own with the very weird chin and body joints making you look more manish then woman and also the way everyone spoke to everyone and the cg`s were an eye sore. Also what the characters say just don't seem very believable either as everyone seemed to be hitting on everyone. If you could choose what your character looks like even would make this better and why does everyone have such weird names? If you can get past these things the game would be ok but at 10.99 on sale and 21.99 regular price it just doesn`t seem worth it to me when I`ve played some pretty amazing games for half those prices regular.
Mixed feelings about this game. On the one hand it is a tiring and complicated stat management game. On the other if you manage to sort your stats out the characters romances are cute, endearing and well thouoght out. Patience is key here. Perhaps even a waklthrough if you are okay with that kind of thing.
This game is amazing- I watched a youtuber play it when I was younger, and I'm so glad that I was able to finally get it !
Recommended if you enjoy a fairly straightforward otome visual novel / stat raising game. Detailed enough to get to know the various characters and doesn't feel too short. Not a lot of surprises, but I thought it was good - I don't always need or want harrowing and dark, and these characters actually seemed to act more like normal people (of 17-19) than in many games. Pros: + Enough unique features/plots in the different storylines to be interesting as you try to complete the different endings + Likeable characters + Generally well-written (and the dialogue was more realistic than usual) + UK setting (I really enjoyed the setting and the slang - so many games are set either in Tokyo or the US) + The endings (Best, Good and "Dual") were quite well done; I thought the "dual" endings were a neat touch + The intro to the game pokes fun at itself... Cons: - The artwork takes getting used to; many people have criticized the strange chins and it *is* a distraction (but I found many of the CGs were fine) - Parts of the game are pretty repetitive - Not sure why you can "fail" when attempting to improve a skill, since you can just save and reload Overall: Glad I bought and played it, sorry I'm just about done.
It was really fun
I remember this game from back in the day, the trial was all I could get when I was in secondary school and that's only up to the Halloween event and I played literally every nook and cranny of it but I bought this game as soon as it was up on Steam and the rest of the game is just as much fun as I expected! I find the art style quite charming and actually it's almost nostalgic for me~ Also, the clothing options and the styles that can lead to are amazing, always a plus to have that in an otome game 83 All these characters are unbelievably likeable and all have their own stories and camaraderie with each other. Also, whoever wrote the characters and how they speak, KUDOS! They each have their own idiolect and talk in their own way while sounding like actual people which can be difficult. Rhett is probably my fave boy and even was during my trial days XD I didn't think I'd like Lamb too much hoenestly but I actually do, she just seems socially awkward and I even think her crush is kinda cute (even if that does make her a rival). This entire game just oozes with humour and heart and is rather easy to get into, I love my time playing it and can't recommend it enough! <3
I played this game waaay back in 2011 around the time when it was first released. And to this day, I still love and play it. From the art to the music to the characters, I've adored this game for almost ten years now. It's a game that will always have a special place in my heart. It's a stat raising VN which is a hit or miss with most people. But with the power of save-scumming, getting the stats you need is not an issue. It's sad that the original walkthrough is gone. But in short, get to 70+ for all stats to get A's on the mock and 130+ for the finals. 130+ is also the min of most characters for their best ending. (With Beck being the exception, the tough bastard D:) The dialogue definitely shows the game's age. With the use of ret*rd and slut-shaming, it has a few cringey moments. But those are so few and far between, and if you consider how teenagers are, those moments fade away. In short, I'd recommend this game 100%. It's a little harder for completionists without a walkthrough, but that's what replays are for right ;D EDIT: I actually made a 100% walkthrough for this game XD It has all route details, CG's, and Monthly Fashion tips all in one bundle.
if it wasn't for the constant R slur usage this would be a great game. Honestly the humor in this game is very "Shane Dawson" so, not for me.
This game is amazing, despite the weird graphics, just don't even pay attention to the weird jaws. I played through all the friendship and romance paths, and loved every single second of it. Pros: -You can date cool dudes. Seriously, these are really cool dudes. -The shopping system is pretty cool. -Cool events come up giving you more stuff to do. -Storyline isn't flat. Cons: -The huge awkward jaws. This may turn you off. -You will probably either hate Merle for her heavy bubbly gossipy personality or hate Lamb for her grouchy antisocial personality. -There is NO SEQUEL. Seriously, there is no sequel. When is Super63 going to get on that? Seriously, play this game.
Wow, I have to admit it's a surprisingly pleasant experience. Aside from the character designs (which you can know before signing yourself :'>), the game is well taken of. There's even mini-game of making pancakes that I really enjoy. In fact, I knew about this game because I was kinda waiting for this developer's new game Edge Of Nowhere. And after finishing this game, I have more hope for their new products which, if I have to say, improve character designs a lot :3
This game is the best fun I've had in ages. The characters are what really made the game shine. All of them are dynamic and interesting and by the end of each of their routes i really liked all of them. The writing is good and has lots of quirky British humour. I also really enjoyed the protagonist she was really fun to play as. I would recommend this to all otome fans in search of some light-hearted fun.
-Enjoyable heroine & boys -Cute item and good outfit -Gameplay and mini games is simple, easy to play -If you searching for light-hearted fun, go for it! But! -That chin and lack of bright color -Lack of date location, date conversation, friend conversation -The date conversation mostly boring af -Lack of creative, so much depend on TMGS I still enjoy the game though. But I recommend you buy it during sale off since you could find a equal-quality game with half price (well, the dev also sale off regularly so you could easily find a chance).
I played this way before it came to Steam. 10/10 Would play just to date Rhett over and over again. He's totally my type. Now, THAT'S how you write a "Jerk wtih a heart of gold" (He really ISN'T a jerk at all). The art could really use some polishing, but keep in mind this is really old art, so the characters don't really look like in the trading cards, sadly. (Excuse me, I need to go and play Rhett's route again)
I wish I could recommend this game but I really can't. The art certainly shows its age and could use an update, the fact these characters are 17-18 and being hit on by the overtly sexual professor is uncomfortable. The price tag is unjustifiable to me. I love stat management and romances so I really wanted to like this but I just could not. Honestly a game that I would recommend if you want something like what this tried to be I would recommend "Heartstring Bugs" by Unbroken Hours. Free game, better art, longer timeline (3 years v 1) so you aren't having to pack everything in such a short time. Has the clothing system, stat system, all of it, and while the game essentially admits to taking inspiration from this one it just does it better.
No clear objective or plot line, art is too rough for my liking and is not consistent with the cover (had I known, I wouldnt have purchased it). Real dissapointed
10/10 Would make pancakes again.
I am going back and forth on this game. Honestly if it weren't for the art, it would be much easier to make up my mind. As it stands, I would give it 7/10, only because despite the art I genuinely enjoyed the game. Pros: Lots of content would take a lot of time to play through and get all of the different endings. The main character is relatable, and all of the datable characters are likeable. Story is fluffy and cute, believable well written dialogue for the most part. Buy all the clothes. Make all the pancakes. Cons: dat chin tho... Jokes aside, my biggest complaint with the game is the art. Although I will say after a few hours of playing my irritation with the art subsided to a degree, but thats not to say that it grew on me because even after a few hours of play I would find myself distracted by the seemingly disjointed chins of literally every single character in the game. If you don't think you can get past the art, don't bother with this game. Even the CG's are pretty wonky looking. Some might not like the stat raising aspect (though I personally don't mind it) The story lacks any real depth, (again, I didn't necessarily mind this myself. For what it is, I think this is just fine, though others might be disappointed with this.)
My playtime isn't representative of how much I've played this, as I owned Lucky Rabbit Reflex outside of Steam, as well. I would venture to say the more accurate estimate would be somewhere around thirty hours. That said, Lucky Rabbit Reflex is a fun, fast-paced, enjoyable stat-raising dating sim. I have very few complaints about it and I recommend that any otome fan that doesn't already own it should add it to their library. +PROS: Fun, engaging story line with likable characters. Choices matter in a genuinely branching story Easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing interface Good music that doesn't get repetitive Lots of replayability -CONS Incredibly stylized art that will be hit or miss depending on the player If the art isn't too off-putting to you, I would strongly recommend Lucky Rabbit Reflex. It's well worth the money for the amount of gameplay you can get out of it.
