I wish I could give a neutral response. It's not a bad game. It is exactly what it says it is its just a little meh... ( can't really say what I think is missing so much as almost everything feels a little unpolished) hoping for an update with more content and polish it was on sale but still I think $10.00 was a bit much maybe I'll come back to it later.
You can punch bees, as far as I care, This game gets Game Of The Year! In all seriousness though, this game is good, however it is very basic at this moment because it is in EARLY access, but with its current pricetag I say it's worth it! It's just 5 dollers at this moment! So why not give it a try? Edit:There has been an EXTREME lack of updates, like the first update I remember, was when it released on steam, I recommend people be very careful before buying this as a result.
Hey there, I enjoy the game. I think it has a lot of potential. I've played for around an hour and a half to two hours, mostly because it just doesn't hold my attention a whole lot longer than that. That's partly expected because it's in early access though. With time I'm sure the game will mature into something very fun to explore and play with. I did have some issues with the game, and I go more into detail about that in a video review on YouTube. http://youtu.be/iZOf4EcLkI4
it's alot of fun but would be even funner with coop great work has been done
Great game of building, mining, fighting and creating from a sandbox perspective. Love punching bees. Very satisfying! New updates really add new dimension and excitement to the game. Keep up the great work and bring us more dungeons!
i think this game is amazing and for the price you should buy it but it does take time to get use to and there are bugs such as all my chest items got deleted but that might just be me
Played at version 0.7 early access. A fine little sandbox game. Nothing revolutionary yet, but it's fun! Pacing is a little off (too slow at the beginning, too fast later on). That can probably be easily corrected as it continues through development. The system where you build houses, put them up for sale, and then random villagers move in is really neat!
A very promising game that has a long way to go, right now (when i write this) there is not so much content but the things that are added I find fun.
I HAVE BEEN EVALUATING SEVERAL GAMES LIKE THIS, SO PLEASE DONT CONFUSE THIS GAME WITH MY OTHER REVIEW ON PROJECT EXPLORE. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS POSTED HERE FROM OTHERS ARE FROM 2016, AND SO FAR I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY THAT REFLECT THE RECENT CHANGES FOR TILE MINER. TILE MINER IS A SINGLE PLAYER GAME FOR NOW, WHICH IS IN EA STATUS AND IS A REWRITE FROM IT'S ORIGIONAL. THERE IS ONE DUNGEON, SOME MONSTERS TO FIGHT, AND INFINATE LANDSCAPE. THESE ARE BEING IMPROVED ON AS I TYPE THIS. UNLIKE PROJECT EXPLORE, AND EDGE OF SPACE THAT WERE PUT INTO STEAMS STORE AS COMPLETED GAMES WHICH THEY BARELY ARE EVEN 10% COMPLETE, TILE MINER DESPITE STARTING TWO YEARS AGO, AND NOW BEING RE-WRITTEN, AT LEAST HAS ALL OF ITS CONTENT FULLY WORKING, AND THE WRITER WHO DID NOT WANT HIS GAME TO GO IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS THE OTHER TWO I LISTED, ACTUALLY WANTED TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WOULD GET BURNED, AND HAD ACTUALLY REMOVED THE TITLE FROM THE STORE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, TILL HE COULD GET SEVERAL AREAS THAT WERE LACKING, IMPROVED AND ADDED. IT TOOK QUITE A FEW PEOPLE, INCLUDING MYSELF, TO TALK THE WRITER INTO PUTTING THIS INTO THE STORE, AND HAD EVEN STATED WE WERE WILLING TO TAKE THE GAME AS IS, YET HE HAS GONE OUT OF HIS WAY TO IMPROVE THE GAME, AND YES, THERE IS MUCH TO BE DONE, THE GAME IS ENJOYABLE. UNLIKE SIMILAR GAMES, THIS ONE IS PRETTY SIMPLE, AND YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE THE MECHANICS. DYING AND DROPPING THINGS, WELL, IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS OPTION, I CAN EASILY SHOW YOU HOW TO MEMORY EDIT THE HP SO YOU DONT DIE. BUT PLEASE, IF YOU GIVE THIS GAME A TRY, AND NOT HAPPY WITH THE FEATURES, OR EVEN HAVE SUGGESTIONS, SAY THEM IN THE FORUMS FIRST. EA GAMES SHOULD NEVER BE GIVEN NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOR BUGS AND INCOMPLETENESS, UNLESS ABANDONED, OR PUT IN THE STORE AS A WHOLE, THEY ARE GAMES THAT HAVE FOUNDATIONS MADE, AND THE WRITERS WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT BEFORE IMPROVEMENTS ARE MADE. THIS IS GREAT IN SEVERAL WAYS, BECAUSE HOW MANY TIMES DO WE BUY GAMES THAT ARE COMPLETED WITH FEATURES AND THINGS WE JUST CANT STAND, AND THIS WAY, WE CAN HELP IN THE GAMES DEVELOPEMENT. The games is about $10, which in my opinion is pretty adequate being that there is a lot more going to be added this year (2018). Better to buy while it's cheap, then pay more later when it's complete. The dungeon is fun, and I myself am working on my own after I finish work on another project. I'm looking foward to the upcoming changes, and will update this review as new things come out.
Love the randomness and expanse of the world. I was able to play and craft things right away, and hasnt crashed at all, contrary to other reviews. Great game, can't wait to dig more into it and build more.
Now that I've played a bit more I think I can give a decent review according to my game play. Yes, the game has some bugs, I did notice the random crash one, but the few minor bugs I addressed to the dev, they fixed them asap (literally an hour after my post) I see all the negative reviews, and they were left in 2016. I just got the game so I can't talk about the game back then all I can do is talk about it now in 2021. This game is also produced by like 1 dude, so let's keep this in mind. The game reminds me of Keplearth and rimworld. I really like that you can make villages and sell them so npc traders can move in. The graphics are cool, and for the 15 bucks the game is going for. I'd say there''s about $15 worth of content right now. You can build as much as you wish, you can adventure, farm, trade, brew potions and so much more. The game still could use some different materials you use to build with but if you don't mind helping out a game in EA then spend the $15 it's a pretty fun little game. The random crash don't happen often but you MIGHT encounter it if you play games like a crackhead. I would let this game nail my gf. Can't wait to see what they add to this. Keep up the good work!
Pretty fun game so far, a bit confusing at the beginning but you get the hang of it.
Great game at first, but now I can't play more than five minutes without it crashing. When it crashes none of my progress from when I log on to when it crashes is saved. Not worth the five dollars.
Wow, the game looks more promising, thx 4 the wonderful great update! Keep up the great work... Cheers
UI elements are far too small for me to read the text and there are no options in game to change that. The "ui scale" option in the menu only has a few static options for scale, none of which actually affect text size. This makes the game functionally unplayable for me
Great game except for the part where the game closes and you lose items like the copper stairs... This was my third play through and everything was going great. Placed the copper stairs started mining and then the game closed. Started the game again to find a blank square where the stairs had been placed and no way of making a second set of stairs. So... no, I would not recommend.
Entertaining amoung glitch that closes out the game. I cant make it through last dungeon as the lue and Red portal are not enough to unlock me from a room
I Would Love To See Multiplayer To Be Added So That Me and My Friends Can Play Plus I Love The 2D Aspect Of The Game From The Trees To The Items and The Crafting Is Well Indeed I Would Recommend This Game To All The Gamers Out There and 2D Gamers. I Hope For Is The Multiplayer To Where You Could Create The Server and Such Maybe Mods But I'm Getting Off Tail I Would Give It a 5/5!
Tile Miner is great but there are a few things that would make it so much better. One thing is a mini map. This would make it a lot easier to navigate in the world. Also, increasing the spawn level of animals would make it easier to find food. Almost every time I have died it has been from starvation. One last thing is some sort of creative mode . This would help players get used to the items and learn how to play without dying. Overall, the game is a very good idea.
It is very clear to me from the wording in every development log that the creator cares deeply for this project, and it is a true shame that it has had such a harsh development cycle. While I haven't played this game for very long, I have enjoyed every minute I have spent on it, and while this game appears to have controversial reviews, thats mostly down to the fact that many of the reviews were written when the developer was not updating the game and it sat stagnant for almost a year from memory. This is definately one of the hidden indie gems of steam, and i absolutely reccomend it for those days / nights when your internet goes down, or no one else is online and you just want to relax and have some fun on your own. Love this game :)
