One of the better purchases I have made in a while. Certainly worth the asking
price.
"Lovely Planet Remix" adds a bit of a spin to the regular "Lovely Planet"
experience by adding multiple different game modes which come with changes to
the shooting and movement mechanics. Nothing feels out of place though. The
entire game screams "Lovely Planet" and it's basically just an upgraded and
expanded experience of the original. It carries a very polished feel.
I especially am a fan of the in-game leaderboards which got a MASSIVE upgrade by
adding a replay system! You can just open the leaderboard and then look at how
anybody with a fast time went through the level, easily helping you beat your
target time.
You might need that help considering some of the modes require a fair bit of
practice to get the hang of (looking at you Jelly). But after having played for
a bit, I enjoyed the extremes even more than the regular experience (which is
already great). If I want to challenge myself I play something a bit harder, but
if I want to relax I have that choice as well.
It even gives you an incentive of getting good at one particular playstyle, by
giving you a leaderboard for entire playlists. Playlists are usually around 12
levels of a particular game mode, with the later playlists being more
challenging.
The game has a polished feel and offers gameplay mostly for people who like a
bit of a challenge. Trying to improve your own times enables almost unlimited
replayability to competitive players. But it also offers a nice variety of
different playstyles, which could help you with future purchases, after you know
what mode you had the most fun with. And for the explorers out there: It got
secrets. A lot of them.
P.S.: This game has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack. As good as the gameplay
is, the soundtrack is probably even better. I really encourage picking this game
up. One of my favorites.

Excellent fast-paced shooter that proves more noise and effects do not make a
more satisfying game. Lovely Planet really puts you in a trance, to the point
where you can play a level for dozens of attempts without losing focus or
getting bored. As for the modes people complain about, they certainly have
flaws, but aren't as bad as people say. For example, Jelly has rather consistent
physics that can be gotten used to and even mastered so as to hit airshots with
your wobbly gun. Overall I feel there's much more good than bad here, and for
such a low price it's honestly a no-brainer. Also the dev is awesome :->

Lovely Planet has received so many mediocre sequels and spinoffs that it's hard
to believe they finally made one that was good, but here we are. This is an
amazing Lovely Planet experience that newcomers and veterans alike can enjoy. If
other installments in the franchise put you off, this game will bring you back
in. The gameplay, music, and aesthetics are all at the same level of quality as
the original game.

Lovely Planet continues to be very lovely, and sadly continues to be very
underrated as well.
The Lovely Planet series is simply a joy in all aspects.
Gameplay - Excellent, addictive, challenging. Controls are very responsive and
tight.
Music - Phenomenal and catchy as ever
Graphics/Style - Cute, unique, and beautiful
To me the LP franchise has always blended that time trail element of games like
the "Trials" series, or the trackmania games which have always been super
addictive and translated that into FPS format. And, as ever, the style is very
reminiscent of the Katamari franchise which is a very huge win as that is one of
my favorite franchises in gaming.
This entry into the LP series has us tasked with getting used to different
weapons and conditions that shake things up from the usual gameplay of LP. The
noodle gun, no directional air control mid jump, different bullet velocities and
more. This offers a fresh and unique challenge that those who are already
accustomed to the franchise will enjoy. If someone out there is somehow reading
this and thinks this game looks cool please just buy it and give it a shot. I
truly believe it deserves your time if youre the type that likes the previously
mentioned time trial type of gameplay. Or even if you don't still give it a
chance this game is challenging and rewarding in a way that a lot of games have
given up on in favor of showering the player with praise as they accomplish
absolutely nothing.

Overall Score: 8/10
Solid, cartoon fps game that has a simple requirement of killing all the
enemies, and getting to the end. Quite cool how this game expands on the
previous games with new modes and mechanics to figure out and optimize. I would
recommend this game to pretty much any fps fan, especially for it only being 5
dollars. Keep in mind though that there are a few worlds where execution is
quite high like tunnels or jelly, and it might turn casuals off. Also if you
care about 100% the secrets are a bit grindy.

More Lovely Planet! Pretty difficult. More game modes besides just classic that
all add their own twist to the game.
Some of the modes deliberately take control away from you and otherwise makes
the experience more challenging, and sometimes that can be frustrating and you
might not like all game modes. Jelly being a good example. Instead of snappy
aiming, your gun is now jelly, meaning that camera movement will cause the gun
to "sling" in different directions. You also can't move while jumping. It's not
my favourite mode but it offers a unique challenge you don't see anywhere else
in this series.
My favourite modes are probably tactical (fast bullets, can't shoot or move
while jumping), mountains (fast bullets, double jump), and tunnels (hitscan,
dungeon-crawl). So far there is only one playlist each for mountains and
tunnels, but more could always be added later.
You can turn off the deliberately low-res graphics in settings. PSX filter =
off.
If you like Lovely Planet, go for it. It's good. If it's your first foray into
Lovely Planet, LP 1 and 2 could be an easier introduction. Or just go for it. Up
to you.

Another installment of the Lovely Planet series. Just like the other games this
one looks all fun and casual at first. Until it gets excruciatingly difficult.
This cutesy little game will challenge your first-person gaming skill and push
you to your limits. It's still entirely doable though.

Remix is another installment of the lovely planet series, and to me it is the
prime example of overcooking something that should've been simple.
Gameplay we're back to basics and each level set follows a new set of rules, be
it a type of gun firing, physics of the gun, whether the player can jump, the
variety in the modes is definitely there, but the lack of a solid tutorial
explaining these oddities lets the game down immensely, like i didn't realise
there was a dash jump in fortress levels for a decent amount of time and blink
was very confusing to udnerstand at first why i had random deaths, the time
trial and 100% accuracy requirements work well for this game although the arcade
modes feel very sloppy and thrown in without much effort since they're not
really required apart from collectables, and that's where this game completely
dies, they are absolutely abysmal and some of the worst collectables i have ever
seen in a game, they are untracked, hidden, sometimes forced to be collected in
arcade mode and just generally awful in every way, it didn't add anything so
don't include it; and its a shame because the base game is great but everything
else really lets it down and ultimately was enough to sour my entire experience.
Graphics wise everything is a major improvement, the effects feel smoother and
everything has a better cleaner style to it, pretty neat improvements on the
simplistic style it already had maintained for a good while.
Music wise is alright, i feel it got too branched out and because of it none of
the tracks stood out at all, i miss the days of lovely forest in 1 and 2 being
very outstanding tracks, and instead i found myself shutting it off and
listening to something else.
Also the dev keeps updating the game adding new things that really cross a line
and anger me slightly, adding new achievements that remove someone's 100%
completion is kind of annoying unless a fully pledged package is coming like
isaac or something, also the UI updates are very clunky and didn't need
changing, if it aint broke, dont fix it.
Overall a solid base game for the return to the base style of lovely planet
games but extra oddities were enough for me to feel like the series as a whole
wasn't worth it, i honestly thought they were indie classics but i hate to say
it, i feel the series as a whole is not upto par quality wise and this game was
that tipping point for me.

It's more Lovely Planet which is already enough to recommend it. However, this
time it comes with a bunch of different gameplay styles like
no-shooting-when-in-the-air or a noodle gun and all of them do their job - most
of them are just fun, jelly mode isn't exactly fun but it does a good job of
offering a challenge. Overall, it's the best and most polished (and most
difficult) game in the series and for 10$ it's a steal.

don't listen to the negative reviews. if you're looking for fun competition
between friends, this is the game. if you're looking for fun competition with
strangers, this is still the perfect game. it offers so many creative modes and
mechanics that, while some may not be for everyone, there is certainly something
for everyone.

This is a frustrating review to write, because at a base level... this is more
Lovely Planet. And I love Lovely Planet! But... man. Some of the obnoxious level
design quirks that had started to bubble up in LP2 came to a full boil here and
kinda ruined large swaths of this game for me.
Okay, so, first off, a quick ranking of all the game modes, from worst to best.
Jelly: I mean, duh. This mode is intentionally designed to be obnoxious. I don't
know why there are three level sets. I don't think it would be too bad if not
for how unlikely it is you'll ever be able to accurately judge where your shots
end up during jumps, and boy howdy does the game want you to make a bunch of
annoying air shots from like the middle of the second playlist onwards. Between
the fixed jump arc, the lob shots, and a general lack of clever level design...
yeah, not much fun to be had here.
Fortress: Jelly is the only all-around awful mode but this one's not... great.
The three shot spurts make aiming harder, especially in movement-heavy levels,
and the dash doesn't feel great - especially upwards movement, where I often got
caught on cliff edges. There's also a lot, a LOT, of gotcha traps here that just
feel unfair. The first set felt way harder than the second set, though, and I
mildly enjoyed this as a whole.
Tunnels: Oogh. I want to like this one but this mode is where all the game's
worst level design traits come into play - more on that later - and for whatever
reason, this mode also tends to have exceptionally tight time trials mixed with
its uber-fast gameplay that make it unquestionably the hardest mode in the game.
Like, Tunnels 2-1 for example requires around 50 shots in something like 26-27
seconds? If most enemies didn't take three shots and the gameplay wasn't so
aggressively twitch I might've liked this one but this is LP2 Abyss-levels
frustrating to me, nearly quit during the second set of levels.
Cascade: The newest mode, and probably the most forgiving and slowest-paced of
them all. Like, a bit trial and error based but not... suuuper hard (yet). Not
particularly fun though but it's inoffesnive.
Beach: ...gotta be honest, I always forget this mode exists. It's just not got
much going for it. No jumping leads to very basic level design, lob shots are
back and as annoying as ever, but at the same time it's not particularly
challenging by the game's standards, it's just... there.
Tactical: Functionally halfway between Mountains and Jelly, with a faster-pace
and faster shots mixed with no air shooting and fixed jump arcs. Generally fine,
even gets pretty clever in the third set, but I'd never pick it over Classic or
Mountains.
Blink: This is a funny gimmick and super fast-paced in a way that doesn't grate
because the levels tend to be over so fast. Probably the most unique mode and if
I were to pick a mode that needs a second level set it'd be this, but on the
other hand... what more -can- you do with it?
Classic: Boring to say but obviously the bog-standard lovely planet gameplay is
gonna be some of the best. It's not peak lovely planet and there's one reeeeally
long level in the second set that should've just been split in half, and it
takes until the third set for clever, interesting level design to emerge, but at
its core it's... well, solid lovely planet gameplay.
Mountains: Probably the least divergent from the "classic" style in that the
only changes are faster bullets and a double jump but boy howdy if a third game
is made please base it entirely off this one. Faster but not too fast gameplay,
harder but not too hard challenge, tight but not too tight time trials, long but
not too long levels. I used single levels of this playlist as rewards for
clearing other, less fun playlists because of how much I enjoyed it and
specifically saved the last level here for the very last level in the game I
completed. More, please.
...yeah, so when I only start really enjoying maybe the last 3-4 of the various
gameplay styles, that's already a problem, but aside from the wholly malformed
Jelly mode, I think they all have potential. It's just that the level design
is... problematic.
For one, it's just, on the whole, a lot less clever. There was a tangible
evolution of the base gameplay in each world of the original - apples to test
your accuracy, homing bullets to test your crowd control, swamp fog to test your
speed and reaction time, and the sheer puzzle madness of mountains that made it
feel like an entirely different game. The only two playlists that encroach upon
the cleverness of LP1 Mountains are Classic 3 and Tactical 3. Something like 20
levels out of a total 200.
Apples, also. Are just used in worse ways here. Rarely in the first game would
you have to do a long, semi-blind apple shot, and often whenever you did, either
the level would be really short or it would be one of the first shots in the
level. Dozens of levels in this game require either multiple hard apple shots
(Jelly is notorious about this) or place a particularly difficult apple shot
right near the end of an already too-long level, which.
Level lengths. The longest level in the first game still clocked in at under 30
seconds, and it was a village level. Where, as the game got harder, more
demanding, levels generally got shorter, with only a handful of Mountains levels
even breaching 20 seconds. 25-30+ second levels are the norm in a lot of
playlists here, and with how much denser the levels are with stuff to do they
tend to feel even longer than that. Tunnels 2 is the most egregious but it's
present in almost every single game mode to some extent.
It feels a lot more like what made Abyss so awful in LP2 - an overcorrection to
a supposed difficulty problem by just, making the levels have more stuff,
instead of designing harder, tighter challenges. A fifteen second level with
five hard shots is not half as hard as a thirty second level with ten hard
shots, it's about 20%, maybe even 10% as difficult, because you have to keep
repeating that same hard first 15 seconds to even get a shot at the second half.
There were a few long levels I spent upwards of an hour trying to ace, only for
the next, much shorter level to take me a few minutes. There's just no
difficulty curve, even within playlists or game modes. Jelly 2-5, the hardest
level in the game. Tunnels 2-3, the second hardest. Tunnels 2-1, the third
hardest. That one really long Classic 2 level, probably the fourth hardest just
on sheer size.
There's also, just. A lot more gotcha moments and trial-and-error in general.
The lookahead is back but it's not gonna help you with the abundance of moving
blobs, it's not gonna let you know when and where apples are going to fire, some
apples even hidden in water/lava in tunnels 2 for added effect. You learn levels
by grinding through the early parts to get a chance to peek at the second half,
which, again, doesn't feel good at all.
Oh, and, the secret stars. Uhh. Screw right off with the Arcade mode stars that
are 8, 10, /15/ levels deep into the middle playlists. Classic 2-15, has an
arcade mode star. That's not cool. That's way too much moderately difficult
level to get through all for just one single star. Also some of the hidden stars
I have no clue how anyone found. I used a guide for them. Sue me.
I will commend the game for having some good ideas and I proooobably enjoyed
more levels than I didn't, but the bad ones stick out in my memory way more than
the rest. And you're certainly getting your money's worth here - something like
200 levels, double the size of the first game for just over the same price -
but, again, the quality isn't there... the game is still being updated fairly
regularly even a year later, from what I can tell, the soundtrack's probably the
best in the series, fundamentally I see the core of a good game here but the
level design just... really lets it down, man, and that's a shame as a long-time
fan of the series.

Great simple shooter that is very challenging and has fantastic music. The new
variety of modes is a cool addition though the jelly mode isn't the greatest.
Still recommended, and you can turn the psx wobble off if you don't like it

Absolutely fantastic. Every mode is fun as heck, even the ones that are supposed
to be annoying and "unfair". Level design tops the other games in the franchise,
making even the most tricky parts of the levels consistent and satisfying to

Great fps with a lot of variation in mechanics. including some stuff I've never
