Hows the year so far? Some good progress this month, though most of it might have been polish. I believe I am very close to releasing the new updated version of this game and I hope you all will let me know what you think when I do.

One of the things I did this month was to try and make a better key layout for controls as well as to create support for the PS4 and Xbox controllers. I have never really played any PC games with a controller, let alone an Xbox one, so I actually bought my first Xbox controller for this. A very new experience for me and I am starting to like it.

Another major goal was to bring in enemies. I had for the longest time been putting it on the back burner cause I was figuring it to be too difficult, mainly on account of navigating through the area to get to the player. I tried my own way but later found out about the astar algorithm, and was able to reproduce it for my enemies. It works for now but will need improvement in the future for sure.

I have a few enemies now. Some that shoot, some that tackle and some that explode! They will also attack other NPCs. One of things that I really like about developing for this game is that I can try and implement systems. Particularly a faux-ecosystem of sorts. It's nowhere near something like Rain World but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was inspired by it. I almost forgot that I did add a weather system as well. Currently only rain though

A rose to a wuffer in the rain.

While we are on the topic of NPCs, I thought it would be funny to have them produce something when you feed them. So not only will they start to like you but you will get an item out of it. When the game comes out try and feed them and see what you get!

I also added a new part to the Craft Book (which I'm now calling the Guide Book), now when you capture an animal it gets added to your Guide Book and you can track how many you ate or burned to death. I will probably add other things to be tracked as well later on. Recently I was playing Palworld and realized that my game needs a sort of progression system and a reason to play again, so I'm thinking of having goals of eating a certain amount and getting a new starting item. And of course There will be some steam achievements opportunities as well.

Track what you eat!

Oh and just for fun I added a sword.

All in all, I'm really starting to feel like this is ready for people to play. I hope to have it out on April 1st, no joke. I think one more month and It will be up to snuff, well as up to snuff as an early access game can be. Haha. Well, at any rate I guess... I'll....

See Ya Later!
