Great overall game, the artwork, sound design, the system. It took you down to
nostalgic lane with those familiar feelings of early console days. Great work
guys keep it up

So much improvement compared to the previous game.
This game can be considered pretty short if you just want to breeze through the
main story. However, gameplay-wise, there is actually so much to do. The quest
system proved to be challenging, yet also rewarding. The game has a skill
mechanic that allows the player to collect various skillsets and equip it to the
characters, thus making it fun to try different skillset combinations. Some
optional dungeons are available for the players to explore. The crafting system
is also there to give the players a choice to craft items with existing
materials rather than buying them from the shop, especially when you're short on
money.
If you're looking for a JRPG with interesting mechanics, this is definitely the
game to play!

Just finish the game, My internet connection betrays me lately and I spend my
weekend by finishing this game on offline mode, so don't mind about "1 Hrs of
Playtime" while in fact, I play it around 6 Hours.
I will try to compare between Chains of Renegade and Second Assault. Since those
two games actually set on the same World, the Aereon Continent. (minus Mon
Island, but we got Elyria now which is way better than Mon I guess)
Let's start with the positive things, shall we?
1. The things that surprise me the most is how the developer decide to re-create
the map/area on the Aereon continent, when I first arrive at Vaskia and enter
the world map, at first I was thinking about "meh, the developer probably gonna
copy-paste the map from the first game" but I was wrong. (welp, not 100% wrong
since Yadava Mount, Nao Cave and Seashore Cave are from the first one) but other
than 3 Dungeons I mentioned before, all the areas are re-done.
No more long, straight and boring map like in the previous game, Now the pace is
really great. the devs also including quick transfer warp (or whatever they call
it) from each end of the dungeon which is helping most of the player.
The game pace definitely improving, It's cut unnecessary long walk like in the
first insurgence. Remember when you need to walk "manually" from Place a to b in
First Insurgence, and only "Unlock" the Quick Transfer feature after you
complete the main quest on certain area? yeah, that was very annoying. But the
devs now understand if that is annoying and decide to overhaul the pacing and of
course the map.
2. And now let's speaking of the mechanic, Now this game has some real battle
mechanic, unlike the first game where you basically mash the enter button, now
you have to equip right skills and weapons to exploit enemy weakness, just like
in octopath traveler ( I strongly believe the developer are hugely inspired from
that game ) but with extra twist "Skill Equip" where you can equip your
character with skills set so now you can have double attacker or double magician
or whatever you like, and to make it more spicier, now the game has some sort of
skill level up, where the more we use the said skills the higher the damage and
lower the TP/MP cost. This makes the battle actually very enjoyable.
I really hope the developer put this battle mechanic as a special update or
something for the First Insurgence. since let's be honest, the first Insurgence
battle is quite boring.
3. The Alchemy, Cooking, and Smithing feature are okay, not great, still feels
rough. But still nice, I mean better than nothing. since you don't get the
cooking and stuff from the first game.
4. Story-wise it's nice (more on that later)
5. English Translation quality is really improving compared to the first game. I
mean REALLY IMPROVED.
6. Music is really nice, Reminds me of Ar Tonelico and Atelier series, wait...
WAIT A MINUTE... IT'S KEN NAKAGAWA WHO COMPOSE FOR AR TONELICO AND ATELIER
SERIES WHO COMPOSE THIS GAME MUSIC? HOLY HELL
7. Art is really polished, animation and area asset/tilesets are from the first
game but still feels really polished.
Okay, I am done with the Positive, now let's talk about the negative and/or
things that need some improvement.
1. Balancing, this game needs more balancing, especially the element weakness, I
believe there are too many enemies on this game who weak to Fire and Arrows,
making other skills sets kinda useless... (Please fix this on next update)
2. While the story it's good, but as a game "featuring stories from two
different points of view." the game itself is heavily on one side, so it still
feels like one different point of view with quite a large portion of the other
side perspective. I play this game for -+6 Hours, and the "other side stories"
are like... 45-55 minutes long? and heck, you can't even change the "Other sides
stories" characters equipment.
3. The quest system here, while it's nice to have, but definitely needs some
improvement. No Quest Log, No way to cancel a quest when you stuck or no way to
take more than one quest on the same guild.
---
In the end, I still highly recommend this game. Great Music, Great Battle
Mechanic and now with English that the player can easily understand.

It's been a while since I played games with classic JRPG style like these and it
does give me a fun experience. I can tell the team put a lot of passion and
effort in it. The game has superb music, art and decently good story waiting to
be unfold. There's still minor typo and grammatical miss but definitely an
improvement from the first game.
If you like RPG Maker games and been wanting to play classic JRPG this games
might be your choice. I am interested to see what the team would brings next, or
maybe the third installment?

Played the first one, definetly an improvement. In Mechanic, Music, and
Translation Quality (Especially this one).
You guys seems really listen to criticism and that's good.
Not done playing it yet, but seems so far so good. The extra quest system is
rather rough and
there is no way to cancel a quest when we are stuck.
But other than that overall game is good.

"anime gurl" character design....
overall this is a good game, it remind me to Suikoden 1 & 2...

same effect.
MY TABLE REVIEW :
About
Rate
Art/graphic
The art is beautiful, I like the visual novel art. The color palette is great,
the character have good sprite. but not for the map thou, not gonna lie it's a
rpg maker games so you get what you expected from rpg maker game. is the asset.
I think a little bit edit with the asset like adding same color pallete will
make the game more polish or balance. btw the sprite have lack of emotion im
gonna tell it on story tab. overall the graphic is great.
Gameplay
it's a combination between rpg and visual novel I dont have problem with the
classic rpg gameplay thou but, I didn't play the first game which i guess its a
mistake to play the second one before the first ? even if its said i didn't need
to play the first one to understand the story. The problem with lot of rpg is by
their health count you see, lot of developer put high number to the game like
our character have more than 100 in the first chapter or later. Not really a
good idea for a beginner who we could say "Kid's today lazy to count" surely you
can beat the game under 5 hour i doing a research over and over. the game isnt
really balance you can reach boham city without doing any side quest and you can
beat the game easly. (ofcourse if you understand to use item in a rpg game). and
you need to grinding a lot to get all spell by fighting monster or item. so if
you looking for game that can beat fast but you can grinding before finish the
game this game is for you.
Multiplayer
Nope.
Control
no trouble with keyboard and xbox D-input gamepad.
Music or Sound
You know, I do love the music its relaxing and fit the game.
Playtime (Poweref by Me)
I play the game lot in offline and surely you dont need to beat the game more
than 10 hour, you can beat the game under 5 hour.
Story
the story is not bad nor good, I don't have problem with it. btw im pretty sure
they need added quest note so people who play know where they're going. I get
lost in the first area of mystic forrest for 30 minute trying to find where the
way to lisana, No kidding. They should fix those small purple arrow to give
player where you can enter.
I love the character they have a different personality, especially for Rea,
She's looks like a cheerful girl, but the problem is their emotions most of the
time they are emotionless their face didn't change, maybe just a couple of
sprite they change their sprite, Since it's an rpg game usually we don't care
about it, but I don't really like how they change Rea face, you see alissya
always have those feminine like face, And its fit for her, but for rea the
problem comes in the battle section where they change her to be serious that not
fit at all. for the story thou theres some cliche scene where they get robbed
again on a bridge its just you repeated. That's all. Overall the story isn't
really bad, so I won't spoil the story.
Can Low Spec User play this game?
You can always trust rpg maker games they are harmless for your spec.

How many Game Bug
Found couple of it. if you are using gamepad when you are at the inn or shop
you can duplicate the shop keeper or vice versa when you press B button in the
menu. The last one I don't think it's from the game I believe it's from steam
you can't get achievement while in offline mode this bug have similarity with
Yomawari
[https://steamcommunity.com/id/RensAgatha/recommended/477870?snr=1_5_9__402]
game I've played in the past. Play both games in offline mode got notification
achievement is unlocked, but when I going online it didn't upload the
achievement. also there's still lot of bug where you can stand on a wood branch
(with mushroom) which you shouldn't allowed to stand on it.
DLC worth?
for easy beginning ? yeah sure its worth it.
My oppinion
Impresive art style really worth to play, Maybe someday i'll bought the first
game. I dont much play lot of game lately while pandemic but atleast i have new
game for my wishlist for in the future. another suggestion for this game is
blacksmith should have an equipment menu shortcut. so you don't need to back to
the town to check our equipment.
Recommended?
Yes ! It's cheap, Also you may need to buy both game since they're connected.
