A decent rpgmaker game that is worth playing to the end , has tons of branching options , simple rpg concept and average grinding. According to the dev a revamp version should be out sometime later but the story is good enough to playthrough once , game does crash during long plays so be sure to keep saving. Wish it had better music and a map
So this is one of the better RPG Maker games I have played. Like many it has very little custom artwork and mostly uses default assets. This is a pretty traditional RPG system, but it is well balanced. Also the game has a lot of humor and a pretty good story. Many RPG Maker games are buggy and feel half done. This is an exception, and feels like a real game just made in the engine. For people that like JRPGs and want an entry with a little humor this is a good game to try. 8/10
Well it is buggy, but in the developers defense they are actively working on fixing the issues. The game seems interesting enough (thus far), but in its current state I wouldn't recommend buying it unless it's seriously discounted. Game breaking bugs are becoming less frequent, but they still render the game virtually unplayable(it still crashes every ten minutes or so). I will keep trying as new updates become available, and will consider changing this to a positive review when the game actually works long enough for me to give it a proper chance (I say consider because I can't tell whether it's any fun or not, not because I'm a stubborn dick). P.S. At the time of this review, I only have an hour or two total invested into the game. I have windows 8.1, and games don't always close properly, hence why it shows so many hours invested.
Cute, fun little RPGMaker game. I thought it was rather engaging and entertaining for its length. The characters and story were entertainingly well-written, and grinding is fairly minimal. The game is still victim to a few RPGMaker bugs, so save early and often! Also, please make more.
I paid nineteen cents for this game. .19$ NINETEEN. And I would happily spend ten dollars. This game is an absolute gem. The RPG mechanics aren't anything new, true, but the writing is absolutely solid - entertaining and believable while managing to be genuinely funny. Easily worth a look.
Very fascinating game. I'l say about this game what I say about Earthbound and DIgimon World (the original); for all its faults, play it anyways, because you'll never experience something like it ever again. :)
Good RPG. Nice adventures. The end of the game is beautiful. Unfortunately there are some bugs, but you can let it go. You can do all achievements. And you can get trading cards too.
This seems like it would be a fun game... If it didn't crash every 5 minutes. I've had to re-do the first part of the game several times now because apparently it's so unstable that entering a new zone/fight/building randomly causes the game to crash and I've got to reload. I enjoy this style of RPG, but I can't recommend this game at all simply because of how often it crashes.
Interesting RPGMaker game. Has an interesting story, has a lot of humor, and the gameplay is... well, standard for RPGMaker games... Well worth the price.
Surprisingly better than what I would expected. Well balanced battles (kinda. once you get Helga and learn how to abuse her dual wield, you're OP af), funny plot, ultimate bosses and weapons, and you can even be a detective at the end. The plot is the strong point of the game. I'm not into romance story but the writters (mostly females, i think) merged it well into the adventure. Now, cons: well. Not sure if I have any, a few minor bugs, and terrible cutscene arts. But that was expected considering the budget of the game. Would be awesome if they could hire a small artist than trying to sketch it out themselves, though. ps: No it's not a racist game despite the name. In fact, the plot have anti-racism value. You cant treat someone by their races. Except rich white guys, especially ones that owns a hotel. Do you even see his face? Definitely evil.
So far, I am enjoying it. Story is better than your average rpgmaker rpg storyline. It's on sale for $.19 and I've been playing it for ~2 hours, and I've already gotten my moneys worth. About the crashing: In ~2 hours it has only crashed once, around the 30 minute mark, after I talked to the glitch fairy. It seems the dev(s) are working to fix that, so time will tell.
Pros: This is the best rpg maker game I have played in a year or more. Not too pretentious. Not too fan service. Good level of direction while retaining a slightly customizable experience. It's worth more than one playthrough. I lol'd once in a while. The story is well written and paced well enough to keep my interest. Cons: I found the game to be a bit too self referential at times but I appreciate the style of humour. The name is probably the worst thing about this game. I find it a bit uninspired. Glitch Fairy is both nice to have around and annoying that he exists. It's worth the buy if you like rpg games or humour games or are just a fan of anime. The story could easily be a decent anime comedy. Much of the dialogue and personal interactions are standard anime fare. It's not quite on the zany side of farce or on the sardonic side of satire but, somewhere in between.
Great, funny game after 8 hrs in, did not crash 1 time, had a few laughs, woth its price.
Honestly. I bought the game becuase it was 19c and the cards for profit but this game is rather fun. Between the early final fantasy style gameplay and the tounge in cheek explanations for bugs using the glitch fairy has made for a very nice game.
got it for the trading cards. stayed for the fourth wall
A decent rpgmaker game that is worth playing to the end , has tons of branching options , simple rpg concept and average grinding. Pros: + great unique humour + characters actually make you care for them + nice soundtrack + old-fashioned FF turn-based combat + somewhat enticing plot Cons: - game tends to crash whenever you start another battle - length is a bit short
I recommend this title if you are looking for a quirky light heart RPG with an old school battle system. I look forward in future titles from this author.
I don't want this review to be too long as you need to play the game to understand what I'm saying! The Albino Hunter is one, if not THE best game of the year if we're talking about games that hide under the radar... (personally :3) I haven't played an old school RPG for a long time so I thought why not? I was recommended the game by my friend as it was cheap, and one of the groups encouraged the purchase, so shoutout to them people - you know who you are! The game hits you with hilarious humour that is present through the beginning to the end. Some people might find it cringy or weird, yet I thought it was perfect as you don't see many games that use humour as a major thing as it's risky - althought you have games such as Deadpool and this that pulled it off greatly. There are inside jokes that reflect upon the developer and her past work which was pretty interesting. The reference to the actual player and the meta aspect was very different and it felt like a breather from the actual game. The characters are very interesting with each and single one differing from one another in order to pick your favourites and to simply not be bored with the same kind of dialogue. Quests are major in RPG's and the ones that are presented in this game are unique, interesting and again - funny. There are areas that differ from another that also have their unique enemies that provide a good fight, along with a decent amount of gold and exp. The new skills that are unlocked are VERY classic such as boosting the ATK of the party, provoking an enemy to hit a specific character, hitting enemies all at once yet with a reduced amount of damage and etc. This is the most basic description of the gameplay, in a nutshell :) I feel like if someone wants to capture the essence of this game, they need to try to immerse themselves to the fullest by blocking out the real world with a set of headphones and a comfortable seat as you'll be playing this game for a while - as exploration is key to finding cool items but also the achievements that people are desperate to get! This game is really a gem not only for the gameplay. Although this is a small indie title, the Dev's respond to every single question that the community ask regarding the game. The timing is near to instant and the first comment will ALWAYS be from the dev - attempting to sort out the problem whilst being kind at the same time. By no means is this game perfect. There are many bugs and problems with this game as it's completely new - but it's slowly developing. The devs release updates that sort out most of the problems and when a new one occurs, they fix it in a flash. It's £0.15 (dunno how many centssss :S), you're not loosing anything and if you don't like it then oh well, maybe your friend will! But yeah I hope everybody gives this game a shot as it's worth it in my opinion. I've only played around 6 hours and I feel like I'm no where near done!
Do not force me to grind. Please game. I know what is good for me. If I want to walk ahead and die to the monsters, let me. I will learn the hard way and I will grind the game on my own terms. Under no circumstance should a game stop me for over an hour with the same "My level is too low to go on." Message. At least tell me what level I am AIMING for? The battles aren't even tough, it's annoying to sit through the same annoying diologue before and after EVERY.SINGLE.BATTLE. It was cute the first time. A little annoying the seccond. After an hour of the same monster troop and the same diologue I don't even care what was going on in the game anymore. I bought this out of curiousity for research on what to do and not to do in my own RPG maker games. I have learned quite a bit from this experience. But for anyone else who is looking for a good time, please pass this game by. I want my time back. Keep the money just give me my time. TTuTT
as of this writing(2.1hrs game played).. i am actually liking this game.. even if it's an RPG Maker game..which most games by the same engine has the most cliche story.. the characters are great.. the HUMOR is great.. the art is great.. and the combat is actually great.. this game might have a Mixed Review.. but i think it's pretty biased.. PROS: +Great Sense of Humor jokes +Fourth Wall Breaks are hilarious.. especially the studio itself are in the game... and their previous characters are in the company! +great character design +good story "SO FAR"(i haven't finished the game yet.. but the story right now is very "cliffhanging") +simple and easy to learn combat +wise strategy thinking CONS: -bugs may occur(i got a bug where i lost my save.. i don't know how but im glad i'm double saving) -some crashes(i experienced crashes BEFORE battles.. and i know the devs warned us about the issue so yea..) -no voiceovers(i DON'T know if it's ok to put voiceovers in a RPG Maker Game but if capable..i wished there's some voiceovers since sometimes i get dizzy when reading them dialogs..) that sums pretty much it! i REALLY recommend this game and hopefully there are more to come(i haven't even finished this game yet!)
