Short, sweet, simple, cheap. My only complaints are a few bugs and annoyingly small storage for the amount of things in the game. Game gets easily quickly cluttered. Its absolutely fine on its own, but i would definitely love to see some updates in the future!
Hard to dish $5 game. But seems clunky at times. I will not ask for refund though because this is unique concept (in my opinion) and this is solo Dev. Can't complain about $$ if game cost less than a coffee. But there are issues with the game - cannot customize mouse to put left click to drag and right click to collect. No options / settings when you pause the game, I thought main menu would take me there but nope wiped my game clean. Items should have been auto-collected in forager but they don't - its a punishing mechanism for no good reason. It will take a while to memorize what each click does - because you have to pop the character out of the tile then drag and then place again to use. Sometimes you will end up pushing them into the top inventory. Resolution suffers from same issue as Luck Be landlord (or whatever that game is called) - this game is not supported for ULTRA WIDE, so if you don't mind the big black bars on the side then no issue. Changing resolution does not work. I believe you have to save - if you didn't you will loose progress. Lot of weird choices for options that no one uses any more - like the said manual save function and missing options menu when you hit ESC to pause the game. All of this I found in less than 10 minutes of gameplay so there might be more to come. Nice concept - good burner for maybe couple of hours, if the QOL issues every get changed/fixed solid game otherwise you have been warned.
Great fun! Good price :)
Refreshing game that brings some interesting game ideas but needs a bit more polishing in game difficulty design. Still, highly recommend if you enjoy short and sweet games! You can check the playthrough from here https://youtu.be/MA8ozCBfm2Y
I used to be a great fan of wasting time in flash games. I had 3 years of daily badges in a website of such games, that is no longer around. R.I.P. flash... This is a unity game, it is worth a few hours, and it costs about a cup of coffee. I would have smashed a game like this for being in steam or asking for payment, but that was before flash died. I knew what I was paying for (to support an indie dev and get a few hours of fun). If you have any other expectation, do stay away. Otherwise the game is fun and attractive for a bit. It is not "Doodle God", but a nice try on the same vein (genre?), more or less. The first half (lets say first 30-60 minutes) is learning the game and it is where the game is at its best. After that sadly it becomes repetitive and annoying rather quickly. To me the last 30 minutes of the game felt like, trying to get an annoying achivo for a weekly badge (see nostalgic comments above), I would rather spend doing something else....
This was a fun if a little short game. Would probably do better as early access at this point. The core idea is fun, and I appreciate the minimalist aesthetic, but the game would actually be a lot more fun if the workers were slower. Everything is crafted so quickly that there really isn't any strategy to worker placement.
Accidentally threw a dozen kids into a house sized trashcan when I realised I could drag entire stacks. Also, knights live entirely off of crabs. 10/10 It is a cute game but has some quirks, like the limited inventory system. Your screen will end up cluttered unless you avoid harvesting more than what you need. Could use more storage items similar to the fridge if the game got more content added on down the line. It's a short game that can be completed in less than an hour which I guess helps the screen clutter issue? There's also a number of bugs to look out for (e.g. putting knights on houses means you can't remove them, leaving them stuck), but otherwise it's alright.
Good, quick, simple little game.
Beat it in 62 minutes. If only I was 3 minutes faster, I could get a refund. Worth a buck, maybe, but not 5.
I had hopes for this little game, but it turned out not to be worth the buy. The game is buggy to the point where it's frustrating to play. You sometimes have to rebuild buildings (they never produce resources) and can lose combat units if you accidentally put them on a house tile. There are other bug reports in the forums, but I didn't play long enough to see them all. The pop-up combat's little too stressful to be 'relaxing' (there's no pause and it's hard to tell where the attacks are happening so you just end up with a bunch of dead folks), and the developer appears to have abandoned the game-- or at least isn't reading any of the customer posts. I'll swing back by again in a few months and see if anything's changed (it's an interesting idea). but for now I wouldn't recommend picking it up.
Small dev game inspired by Sokpop's Stacklands (and probably Tiletale?). Simple gameplay using only your mouse left click and right click to manage your workers to gather resources, research new recipes, and craft them. As you progress, you will also unlock the ability to make both archers and knights. It was a bit annoying that these can only be trained as babies, and can only fight, but that was relatively minor. I did discover a bug which has been reported concerning these units being placed on a house. Music is pleasant enough. Grahpics are cute, but also made me feel a bit dizzy in the eyes after a while of scrolling back and forth with the varying patterns of lines. I never experience this usually, and looking away from time to time resolved this, but something to keep in mind if you do. I completed the game in just over an hour, it would have gone faster but I had a little difficulty getting two elements to spawn on my map. These were also reported, and I still consider the time I took to be more then reasonable and it did not feel frustrating to look for these. A few updates here and there and it will be even more solid of an entry, but a great start.
Likes - Crafting - Managing units and production Dislikes - Enemies sometimes spawn on already cleared tiles and kill my workers. - Having a limited inventory is a bit weird, if everything can stay on the map. I don`t want to throw things into the trashcan so that made the whole map cluttered. I think i would like more unlimited inventory, or each resource capped and all things would immediately go into the inventory. Not sure if intended, but with the boat, it`s very easy to level up a unit infinitely and make it too overpowered (I leveled up a worker to lvl 220 with just the boat and finished the rest of the game with this one worker). Bugs - If I remove a worker from a producing tile (boat, solar panel, research) at the moment when it finishes, it will continue producing even without a worker (seems to work at any level, but with higher level worker, it`s easier, I tried it with a 19 lvl worker and higher). - Archers never target new enemies, if there are two enemies on one tile, archers will always kill just one and need to be removed and put back to target the other one
The game is good design but the content is too short. Like others comment, I can finished within 1.5 hours. I was expected more content.
Great little game, I highly recommend it!
A charming and fun little game. I usually try to get a dollar per hour out of games to call them a value, but while this doesn't break that threshold, it was still pretty fun. I hope the creator adds some more to it, but wouldn't be heart broken if they don't.
Completed the game in 1hr and there is no progression beyond that point, not really sure why there is the option to continue after completing. Do not buy this if you are hoping for a longer experience, from many other indi-games, this should be marked as "early access". I have spent the day deliberating if I should refund but have decided against as with many of the reviews, this is an indi-dev and I do really like the idea, art style and sound track. Would really like to see something to progress to after the initial game, maybe something simple like making products to some kind of demand for some sort of reward? Build to different island with new completion criteria? The knight on a house bug could be turned into a feature, +1 knight & +1 knight could make a knight in training or something? When making a farmer child, I don't believe the player should also receive a pitchfork as it means making the pitchfork separately is a little pointless. Will look forward to how this game progresses in the future.
Great little game to loose a few hours in. Simple with smooth progression. Once you learn the basics of crafting and training game play is smooth and relaxing. As an added bonus works on Steamdeck using the touch pads in mouse mode.
Slightly frustrating, After being over an hour in the game with quite a bit of progress in research and items built. i placed some knights on a house and they got stuck there, I then tried to save and exit, and the "game saved" text didnt pop up. after loading what i thought was my most recent save, it was a point WAAAAYYY earlier in my progress. This happened a couple times after starting from almost scratch. Sometimes houses would disappear after saving successfully and re loading and/or population report was inaccurate. please fix these issues.
I woulds say that game worth the money. It is simple, short and funny. Has couple bugs, like archers don't react on new enemies or sometimes you can upgrade a unit way above maximum level. Still enjoyable to play and kill some time.
It's a great little game. It is affordable, fun and well made. If you like Stacklands or Forager, then you will probably like this game. The game is very short right now but for the price its okay. I really hope to see more content added in the future. I would also enjoy if they added achievements for the game. Looking forward to what they do next.
