Very good game. It has Grim Dawn and Titan Quest like skill trees with lots of
loot even in early access.
Campaign has four acts with three difficulty levels which takes quite a few time
to complete. Even after that you can rerun maps to level up and get better loot
as usual, so it already has a nice potential to make you sink your time.
Dev is quite involved with the game so far, pretty regular updates. Hope to see
this game develop into one of the genre definining games in the future.
Definitely recommended, if you like these type of games you won't be
dissappointed.

Oh wow, this one was bad. This game is a very low-budget isometric hack & slash
that uses the same old Dark Souls formula of no manual save, no difficulty
setting, and restarting a level after you die. Combat is just repetitively
spamming the left mouse over and over to the point where you feel more like
running past enemies than facing them. Enemies also stand around until you
approach them and then they swarm you with insane massive groups while you sit
there spamming the mouse. The inventory in this game is also very cluttered and
messy with no way to organize. Quests are also very dull with objectives such as
kill this many animals then return to the hub without any satisfying indication
that you accomplished the task. This game also takes up over 25GB and is just
not worth the asking price in my opinion. I would much rather play other games.

Almost impossible to play right now. I waited until close to the refund window
end and I couldnt justify keeping it.
It definitely has an appeal to it. Its slower paced than games such as POE which
is both a good thing and a bad depending on your play style.
I was disappointed to see only 3 classes to choose from. (and they are super
similar, you can almost choose any of them and build the same thing) Although it
says you can combine skilltrees like in Grim Dawn, they are already pre chosen
and splitting your few skill points up between them hamstrings your character
HARD. Damage is super weak to begin with and if you are playing melee have fun
trying to kill the mobs with auras before they kill you.
I played into the second act and I had to stop. Severe judder and framerate
drops to 1/2 fps. It was using 98% of my i9-9900k and I could not even play it
when in outpost. Not to mention the constant visual glitches and hitbox messes.
Apparently this is made by one guy who is staying on top of it so I would love
to revisit when its playable but its not worth keeping even on sale at the
moment. Its almost unplayable.

So, the thumbs up.
It is difficult to decide sometimes which way to go.
With early access, I am inclined to avoid poisoning the opinion of others with a
thumbs down, partly as expectations for an early access game ought never to be
too great at the beginning, and partly because you really cant say till the game
is done.

EDIT 2 (26/02/23):
Another progress check.
Recent patch has reduced the generic feel.
Still a lot to be done.
Again, my review stands as it is.

Jumped in to check progress.
Overall, my review stands as it is.

Now for the review.
This game is very early in development, with barely more than a proof of concept
in place.
It shows all the signs of any other game of this type, with a mix of some of the
better features from its ancestors.
Players of the Diablo series will be familiar with some of it, Titan Quest for
other players, maybe potential for some Sacred inheritance also.
The game is very raw though, nothing about it is clean or polished, and much of
it is placeholder (i really hope anyway!!).
As for whether or not I recommend buying it, it really depends on your
motivation and expectations.
Buy it only if you consider paying for an early access game an investment, and
as such a gamble as much as any investment ever is.
It has potential, but at this point it really could go either way...or just turn
out mediocre.
I am crossing my fingers, and happily invested in what I hope becomes a worthy
successor of Diablo, Sacred, and Titans Quest.

I have been a long term player of ARPG's, seen the lot. Titan quest, grim dawn,
victor vran, last epoch, POE. this is an early access game currently, out of
what is currently on the market i will say you wont beat the update frequency
and player response of sam. there is a passion and need for developers true to
their core values more and more often within the indie development scene, he has
a vision and it's not hard to see the passion for the genre is there too i wont
lie and say it's a magnum opus with no flaws right out of the gate
Gameplay:
the game primarily focuses around endgame content but currently supports 3
primary difficulties in oldschool diable II style being normal, brutal and
inferno. the enemy variety is lackluster but keep in mind this is early access
and on a solo developers time schedule, i imagine once things get rolling assets
can be purchased or commissioned from talented folk. skills are the current
focus and the enjoyment they bring, and this shows. with many skills having
punchy effects and room for gimping to endgame levels as a focus, the game
currently hosts a slew of item rolls, item tiers, rarities and has room for a
lot more down the track and the ease of repeatability.
price point:
there is a lot of complaints so far about the price point, and in all honesty
yeah sure $30 is quite a bit for some (i know it is for me) and so the decision
to purchase the current access version should come from purely the wish to
support the developer on their endeavour, having a passion for helping a game
become its best self or helping provide valuable feedback for the games future.
the is a true EARLY ACCESS game and the steam disclaimer refers to it a bit
poignantly.
all in all i see the game as a stepping stone towards a valuable product amongst
the ARPG community

Cant say I would recommend in its current state although it could be great. Too
many teething problems at the moment and no doubt the dev is looking to fix, but
given the price of the early access at the moment here are some of the bugs:
(playing as a Warrior / Mage)
- There is ALOT of drift on the character when attacking (i didnt have this
playing as ranger/mage) and there is no force standstill button.
- Skill Buttons (whilst playing with keyboard and mouse, not sure if controllers
are supported) are unresponsive most of the time unless mashing. This is a major
issue.
- Potion seem unresponsive most of the time with the character spamming "I cant
do this" - again a major issue.
- Summoned pets dont follow the character
- When you die your current quest (farm x amount of whatevers resets) which is
not necessarily a bug but hugely frustrating
- There is no way of telling how the heck this game saves as there is no manual
save... is it waypoints or when you return to town or when you quit to main menu
or quit to desktop?
- From Spider map onwards the map is completely @ss backwards and navigation
difficult whilst looking at the minimap
- Whilst handing in a quest might do something, the game doesnt tell you what
(if anything) you have been rewarded.
- there are 2 options when starting the game for the first time, one of which is
Vulkan... no explanation as to what that option is or does.
- some of the auras on mobs on the first quest are totally OP and given that the
potions tend to be hugely unresponsive this is an issue

Lots of potential in this Grim Dawn-like and I'm really looking forward to
keeping up with its development. Best of luck to the developer!
